Introduction

This programme will provide an insight into curriculum and instructional design and development.

The programme is also suitable for human resource development personnel ie training managers and executives/officers who have not attended formal programmes on course design and development and those who are interested in acquiring a basic appreciation of the above course to aid them in their work.


Target Participants

HR and Non HR practitioners who design and develop learning and knowledge systems for their organisations.


Programme Objective

At the end of the programme, participants will be able to:

1. Identify the 4-step training process model
2. Identify the Dick and Carey system model concept for lesson design & development
3. Explain the function of goals and objectives in curriculum design and development
4. Describe the principal tasks involved in lesson design and development

3. Principle Tasks Involved in Lesson Design


Learning Methodology

Participants will benefit from a mix of knowledge and skills acquisition in an interactive classroom where group discussions, case studies and exercises are used, participants are encouraged to be active learners.



Trainer

Allan Kon has more than 20 years of working experience in the Human Resource Management and Development fields in both the public and private sectors holding positions from executive to senior management.

He has consulted for Housing and Development Board, National Environment Agency, Motorola University, Motorola Electronics, Mobil Oil Singapore, Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF), Singapore Science Discovery Centre, Tan Tock Seng, Hospital, National University Hospital, NHG College, Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP), Service Quality Centre (SQ), Nevilleclarke Consultancy (NCS) and Singtel.

Allan holds a Master of Arts in Human Resource Development degree from the University of Hull, U K, and an Advanced Diploma in Instructional/Curriculum Design Technology (Distinction) from Motorola University (USA) and Florida State University (USA) amongst others.

Allan’s easy going personality and cheerful disposition, coupled with his experience in organizational training and consulting, he is able to offer realistic insights that would help institutions and individuals to gear themselves for greater personal and team achievements.
