EMPLOYEE COUNSELING SERVICE Employee Counseling is about improving the performance of an employee, by supporting that employee in tackling a work-related or personal problem. Consequently it has the potential to deliver tangible productivity benefits to the employee and to the organization. Counselors focus on enabling the employee to structure his/her solution and to support the employee in that process. The Process of Employee Counseling This would entail the following steps: 1) Referral by the company After referral by the company, the counselor would meet with the employee to establish the relationship and to gain an initial understanding of the work –related or personal problem. 2) Counseling The counselor works with the employee in structuring a plan to tackle the problem. 3) Follow Up The counselor supports and monitors the action of the employee in meeting the plan.
