Developing Effective HR Policies for HR Professionals 28 May 2008 - Holiday Inn Park View Human resource is a crucial asset of the organization. Many cross-functional departments and external regulatory bodies have complex activities involving human resource aspects. As such, human resource policy guidelines should be designed to provide managers, supervisors and employees with a uniform source of information on the organizational human resource practices. The organization's policies apply to the different phases of employee-employer relationship, and outlines how they should be administered. It should be noted policies are general statements of the organization's position and any accompanying procedures are the steps necessary for implementation. Hence, it is the responsibility of the managers to understand and implement the policies. However, human resource practitioners should note that circumstances whether internal or external will undoubtedly require that policies, practices and benefits be changed from time to time.
