HRLAW China Seminar

27 June 2008,
Holiday Inn Park View

Introduction

After 18 months of deliberations and two rejected drafts, Chinese legislators have finally enacted a final version of a labour law that is meant to set standards for China’s rapidly changing labour landscape. The new labour law which was adopted at the 28th Session of the Standing Committee of the 10th National People’s Congress on 29 June 2007, will come into effect on 1 January 2008.

The law, the most significant change in Chinese labour rules in more than a decade, will set new standards for labour contracts, severance pay and employment of temporary workers, among other things.

This one day seminar on 27 June 2008 will update you on the new labour laws and the human resource (HR) practices in China.

This seminar will be conducted by Dr Wong Wee Chwee. Dr Wong is presently general manager, of a large company with the regional focus. He was HR Directors for MNCs like kulicke & Soffa with regional responsibilities.
