Introduction

A special area of counselling, Crisis Counselling, is a value added service in counselling which an HR Department may provide to assist their staff in supporting them in times of dire need. Staff may rest in the knowledge that their company has HR Personnel trained to assist them in times of crisis.

Crisis Counselling differs from typical counselling services provided in that it is more directed and purposeful in steering the client towards recovery. Crisis Counsellors' support enable a client to feel more empowered to recover, especially with the mobilization of resources.
