HRSINGAPORE® Community Reports June - July 2008 Changes to Travel Incentives How have the rises and volatility of oil prices prompted changes to travel allowances in Singapore? HR practitioners in the HRSINGAPORE® Forum say that they have had to make adjustments to their company travel incentives and reimbursements. Some have increased the fixed monthly travel allowances for sales staff, executives and managers by $100 to $500. Others have continued to reimburse travel expenses based on receipts submitted by clerical or other staff who occassionally travel on company business. This includes those who work till late. Still another category is mileage claim. This has been revised upwards by 10 to 20 cents for cars and motocycles. HR professionals in the HRSINGAPORE® Community continue to raise questions about when to review and adjust travel allowances and claims again as the oil prices remain uncertain.
